Important Notice: Adjustment of International Shipping Terms (PPWR)
Hello to all customers and friends of Dachs Knives,
In my workshop and e-shop, I pride myself on honest craftsmanship, a personal friendly approach, and top-quality service. I always want to be transparent with you, which is why I need to inform you about an uncomfortable change I was forced to make.
Why was I forced to take this step?
The new EU rules were intended to harmonize packaging and waste management, but in practice, they have created an absurd bureaucratic and financial trap for smaller craft producers and e-shops:
- No unified European system: There is no single central portal to handle registration. I have to register separately in each individual EU country's national packaging register.
- Absurdly high fees: In many countries, flat fees for registration and mandatory local legal representatives are set so high that shipping just a few knives per year costs multiple times more than the profit or shipping value itself.
- Unclear rules and heavy fines: Fee calculations and methodology differ by country, clear guidelines for small businesses are missing, and unintended mistakes risk devastating fines.
What does this mean for you?
✔ Czech Republic and Slovakia: Everything operates WITHOUT ANY RESTRICTIONS. Orders are received and shipped as usual.
✖ Other EU countries & World: At this time, orders with delivery outside CZ and SK cannot be completed directly through the website.
However, I certainly don't want to leave my international customers in the dark. I am currently working on finding a viable solution (e.g., through certified logistics intermediaries) so I can resume shipping Dachs Knives abroad as soon as possible.
If you are from abroad and interested in my knives, please contact me directly at info@dachsknives.com – we will figure out an individual solution.
Thank you very much for your understanding and ongoing support!
